Konjuh Camp 2022: study, trekking and friendship experience with CISP
Between 22 and 24 August 2022, a group of 25 students from the University of Trento will hike to the top of Konjuh mountain (Bandijerka 1209 masl), climb the recently developed Via Ferrata Paolo Dieci, and visit Stećci medieval tombstone/necropolis, the Girl's cave and the Paucko lake in the wonderful nature of Konjuh Protected Landscape, in Bosnia Herzegovina.
During the 3-day adventure, the students will also meet their peers from the University of Tuzla, participate in four study sessions held by professors from the Universities of Trento and Tuzla, and will have the opportunity to deepen themes and learn more about international cooperation with CISP staff.
The 2022Konjuh Camp experience stems from the solicitation of a group of students from the University of Trento and their professor and was developed by CISP, together with the University itself, Globe Inside – an Italy-based tour operator – and Konjuh Lab Tuzla.
During the three–day intensive experience, participants will study and discuss topics such as environment, natural capital, climate change, sustainable development, environmental mainstreaming, international cooperation, local governance, eco-migrations, eco-poverty.
The project resulted in the creation of several tourist packages that have been tested and promoted not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina but also in the western Balkan region and Europe.
Konjuh Protected Landscape has recently been promoted as a sustainable tourist destination. Activities focused on environmental education and local promotion have helped to attract visitors and tourists from the surroundings area as well as from the Balkan region and Europe to this magnificent location.
The sounds of nature, the clean air, the cycle paths and trekking itineraries immersed in unspoiled nature, the adrenaline, and adventurous experiences such as mountaineering or rock climbing, today attract many young people, members of nature lovers clubs, and a significant number of researchers and naturalists.
This summer, 25 university students will have the chance to experience and get to know that all. CISP members, friends and colleagues will do their best to make this experience unforgettable. Accommodated in a mountain hut, the students will enjoy local homemade food prepared by experienced chefs and the kind hosts of the Mounting Hut Javorje.
